SpaceX has agreed to provide Anthropic access to its Colossus 1 data center in Memphis, Tennessee. The plant has more than 300 megawatts of power

Are they f***ing kidding? Naming an AI data center after a science
    fiction computer that ENSLAVED MANKIND?

(Colossus: The Forbin Project -- great movie, BTW)

LOL, the first BBS software I ever tried was called Colossus. The interface reminded me of the Opus boards of that time. I never could get it to answer the modem so I eventually chose GT Power.

Also, IIRC, there was a software developer back then called the Forbin Project. I wonder now if maybe that was the name of the development group that created the Colossus BBS software, or if I am remembering it from some other package? :D

Thanks for the mention. Will have to check it out.

    123moviesfree.net seems to have it.

The Forbin Project was the original shop that created Qmodem, I
    thought?

Could be? I remember the name Chuck Fornsburg/berg but not what he
    might have called the project.

I did some digging - Chuck Forsberg created DSZ - the Zmodem transfer
tool, John Friel III created QModem, and his company *was* called The
    Forbin Project.
